Review: American Airlines Admiral’s Club Chicken Hummus Sandwich

American Airlines Admiral’s Clubs offer a selection of fresh-made sandwiches, salads, and snacks, available for purchase.

One of their specialty sandwiches is the “Grilled Chicken Hummus,” which is describes as “balsamic grilled chicken, grilled red peppers and onions, and hummus on a multi-grain roll.” I ordered my sandwich from the Admiral’s Club by the American Eagle gates at LAX Airport, and it was made in about 10 minutes.

The sandwich comes with a pickle, a side of carrots, as well as a choice of bag of chips, and for $9.99, is actually not a bad deal – and probably cheaper than some of the other airport venues.

The sandwich was offered cold or hot, and I chose the hot version, since they said it would be pressed in a panini maker, and that sounded pretty good. It was not soggy, and the bread held up nicely with all of the ingredients inside. The chicken was pre-cooked, but did not taste rubbery in the least.IMG_5942

Surprisingly, it was very filling, and I liked the side of hummus, which I used to dip the carrots into. Though there are drinks available for purchase, I chose to grab a cup of lemonade from the self serve drink dispenser nearby.
