Purchase Hyatt Gold Passport Points, Receive 40% Bonus + 20% Rebate

May 2, 2015 by James Larounis Leave a Comment

Get award booking help and personalized travel assistance for as little as $1 a month!

Hyatt is once again coming back with what could be a fairly lucrative buying points campaign, where you can receive a 40% bonus on purchased points, now through May 31.

This does require a minimum purchase of 10,000 points, which is $240 (you’ll receive a 4,000 point bonus). The maximum purchase is 55,000 points, with a bonus of an additional 22,000 points at $1,320. It’s worth noting that the transaction is completed on points.com, and you won’t receive any credit card bonuses or discounts for spending at Hyatt itself if you have the credit card.

Hyatt Buy Points

How To Really Maximize This Offer

If you have the Hyatt Visa Credit Card (Chase), you know you’re already receiving a 20% rebate on points through July 31. So, if you buy 10,000 points, receive the 4,000 bonus and redeem all 14,000 points, you’ll then get back 2,800 points, which isn’t half bad of deal. While I don’t ordinarily purchase points, I’d say there’s no better time to do so, since you can combine the 40% bonus with the 20% rebate, through July 31.

Is This Offer a Good Deal?

One of the most famous Hyatt properties, the Park Hyatt Paris Vendome, runs for 30,000 Hyatt points a night. If you’re purchasing all of the points for a one-night stay here, you’ll need to purchase 22,000 points to receive an 8,800 point bonus, for the price of $528.

For a random date this July, during the high-season, this property runs at $1,132 for the cheapest room.

You’re able to save almost half, and even more if you have the Hyatt credit card to utilize the 20% point rebate, if you use this buy points offer, so as you can see, it can be very lucrative for some.

You can buy points here.
