I’m at the Marriott Solana in Westlake, TX this week for a work training. As part of the rooming, I’m paired up with another roomette in the two-double bed equipped room.
Interestingly, I found a notice on my bed when checking in notifying me that I’d receive 500 Marriott points per night, up to three nights (totaling 1,500 points), for refusing housekeeping. I’ve previously reported on a similar offering from SPG hotels, and was glad to find a similar offer here.
So, this one is an interesting question…considering I’m sharing the room with someone, how appropriate is it to ask for housekeeping to not service the room, in exchange for me receiving the 1,500 points? Considering he doesn’t understand the miles and points game, I’m not sure he’d understand, but I guess it’s always worth a shot.
Anyways, just a funny musing for today.

I like housekeeping. Its not worth 500 points to waive this.
Take the points.
