The Austin Airport AAdmiral’s Club is located past security, up on the second level. To get there, you’ll need to take the elevator up (you’ll clearly see the club above you). Interestingly, a sign by the elevator indicates that it is the United Club above, but clearly it’s the AAdmiral’s Club.
Enterting, you’ll see a really unique feature of this club — a miniature putting green, complete with balls and putters. While you wait for your flight, try your hand at your golf skills – such a unique idea!
Beyond the putting green is the check-in desks, with, when I stopped by, some fantastic agents staffing them. Beyond the ticketing and check-in desks is a large seating area.
The Club is divided into several areas – couches facing the television and snack station, seats overlooking the terminal, work stations in the back of the club, and tables and bar stools at the bar.
This club was overly crowded when I visited, partly due to the departing British Airways flight to London. Because premium passengers, oneworld Emerald and Sapphire customers can use this lounge, in addition to the American members, it makes for a very packed space. Fortunately, it lightened up considerably toward the end of my visit.
The bar area was staffed by a helpful bartender who was serving the now long line of passengers in line for free booze. You could tell that the many BA passengers using this space weren’t used to the house liqueur AA provides for free. 🙂
Within no time, I had a drink and was able to find a seat. Charging ports are limited, but can be found depending on where you are seated. When in doubt, the ladies staffing the check-in desk are more than happy to find you a space, as they did for me.
With frequent Dallas departures, it’s no surprise this club is jam-packed, a surprise to me not having been here before. I’m happy there was a club here, because after waiting through the long line to get through security, it was nice to have a place to take a breather for a moment.

That place seems to be my third home… While it can get busy, the AAngels that work there are the best in the system.
Agents here and DCA are the two best, I might even give AUS a slight edge. The space isn’t really big enough for peak times especially now that BA flies to (and indeed is even upgauging) LHR. Reworking things is on the list at AA but not top of list.
There’s plenty of power not just at the workstations but in the section you photographed just above the bar and also some in the quiet room.
Not only are there 14-15 DFW departures daily, but AA serves JFK, ORD, LAX, MIA, PHX, CLT, PHL.
Love that the club overlooks AA gate 13 and is located close to all the AA gates.
But how did you have an especially long security line? Don’t you have Global Entry?
Yeah. Line was atrocious. It was stretching out to behind the AA ticket counter, and the TSA guy I spoke with said they had all available checkpoints open. Maybe I hit it on an unusually bad day.
