American Airlines Adds New Premium Drink Onboard

April 4, 2016 by James Larounis 5 Comments

Get award booking help and personalized travel assistance for as little as $1 a month!

A very minor enhancement, but one that will be welcome with premium travelers and those Executive Platinum members traveling in economy, but American has added Woodford Reserve® Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey to their onboard beverage menu. If you’re looking for something creative to do with this whisky or any other drink onboard, check this out.

For those not in First/Business or an Executive Platinum, Spirits cost $8. American now joins their rival Delta in offering Woodford Reserve onboard. To earn 50,000 AAdvantage miles, enough to upgrade to First Class several times, check out the Citi AAdvantage credit card.

It’s a higher end bourbon whiskey that I know many travelers absolute love and cherish, but one that doesn’t quite fit my tastebuds. In any event, it’s there if you want it…

Ditch the Dewars white label and get a decent Scotch whisky/single malt

Great in-flight addition with Woodford — excellent Kentucky bourbon! Now we just need AA to add Bookers in the Admirals Clubs …

Or JW Blue label in line with British Airways first, would be a welcome addition…

The date of the post is in April, so it isn’t new. It was new as of April, the very month you said you took the flight. 😉
