Flying American Airlines out of LAX this week? Take note.
The alleyway between LAX Terminals 4 and 5 will temporarily close for repairs Oct. 29 through Nov. 2, removing access to east side gates in Terminal 4. About 11 to 15 of AA’s daily flights will operate from the remote area during this time. Customers will be shuttled between the remote area from gates 40 and 42A. A bus will transfer arriving customers from the remote area to Gate 44.
What This Means for You
You need to arrive at least a half hour prior to the scheduled boarding time. This means you need to arrive an hour prior to the scheduled departure time. With usual heavy traffic at LAX, you’ll want to leave plenty of time to be able to make it to the airport in time to clear security and get to the gate for the remote bus departure. Unlike a plane at a jet bridge, once the bus leaves the remote gate for the plane, you’ve got no chances to make it onto the plane, so you can’t cut things down to the last minute.
