Greetings from The Ghan Expedition, traveling from Darwin to Adelaide!
I’ve just boarded here in Darwin and we’re off to our first stop in Katherine.
I wanted to do a quick tour of my Gold Service sleeper compartment.
The cabin is equipped with a seat for 3, with a flip up table on the wall.

On top of this couch is the first of two sleeper bunks. This one pulls down from the wall and creates a bunk effect with the lower couch sliding out into the second bed.

Waiting for me in the room were 2 bottles of water, a trip guidebook, Greath Southern Railway magazine, off train excursion guide, map and also 2 lanyards.

Now, the bathroom is a sight to be seen. There’s a sink, toilet and shower, all within a cramped space. Effectively, you could use the bathroom while brushing your teeth and taking a shower at the same time. 🙂

The bathroom is stocked with towels, toilet paper and toiletries.

Here’s the view looking back towards the hallway. On the left, behind the door is a small closet with a safe.

At the end of the carriage is a coffee and tea station, both of which are complimentary throughout the journey.

That’s a quick tour of my cabin, which is where I’ll spend the next four days and 3 nights as we go from Darwin to Adelaide.
