Starting June 4, arrivals into Philadelphia on American #93 from Zurich will pull into a remote gate. This is for arrivals only of this flight, not the departure.
Upon arrival into the remote gate, “PTV” vehicles will transport the passengers to the CBP sterile area.

Unfortunately, this may effect other flights as American looks to alleviate traffic and tow issues during prime time international departure time periods.
My Take
I wouldn’t be thrilled at arriving into a remote gate like this as it always takes longer to get into the terminal since you have to wait for everyone to load onto the transport vehicles. Philly operations are congested as it is, and I presume the Zurich flight was targeted as it isn’t one of the “big” business flights like London or Paris, though that’s simply my guess.

Well it’s better than airstairs and a bus – which is ALWAYS a disaster.
