In this post, I’ll be reviewing American Airlines’ Lite Bites Turkey, Swiss & Honey Mustard Pretzel Pistolet, served in their domestic First Class snack basket.
Let’s take a look at the details of the flight:
Route: Washington DC (Reagan) to Chicago, IL
Aircraft: Boeing 737
Meal Window: Refreshment (after 1:31pm)
Meal: Lite Bites Turkey, Swiss & Honey Mustard Pretzel Pistolet
Once airborne, a lite bites snack basket was offered, since this flight fell outside of a traditional meal window. Among the offerings was the Lite Bites Turkey, Swiss & Honey Mustard Pretzel Pistolet. There were other sandwich offerings, but this is the one I chose and will be reviewing.
It comes pre-packaged in a brown wrapper, and once unfolded, unveils a small (very small) “torpedo” shaped sandwich.
My thoughts:
- The sandwich was small.
- I really enjoyed the pretzel roll.
- The meat filling was small, and could have used another slice of turkey and swiss cheese.
- The meat inside seemed process and not fresh.
I far prefer the snack service on the “old” American airlines where it was a full sandwich on a plate, but for now, this looks to be the type of sandwich on offer.
If you’re on a “lite bites” flight, and are hungry, I hope this helps you better decide what to take out of the snack basket once it is passed around!
