I don’t want to turn this blog into a personal commentary on non-travel related news, etc., but last week I had the opportunity to work with the Charlottesville, VA Police Department, Albermarle Sheriff’s Office, Virginia Department of Emergency Management and other various search and rescue groups in helping to find the now nationally known missing UVA student, Hannah Graham. It’s a heartbreaking story, though I’m glad I could donate my time as a public safety resource to try to search for her and bring her home. For those not aware, I volunteer some of my spare time in public safety as an EMT, CPR/First Aid instructor, search and rescue team member, and other public servant related projects.
To date, she still hasn’t been found. However, a personal of interest is now wanted by police for possible abduction. Since everyone who reads this blog has some sort of tie to travel, or knows someone who does, I wanted to spread the word about the at-large suspect in the hopes someone sees him and can call police. With the large readership of this blog and other Boarding Area blogs, there’s a good chance someone can find him and bring him to justice…especially if he tries transiting an airport or is staying in a hotel.
Have you seen this man? If so, call police immediately. Let’s bring this man to justice, and hopefully our love and passion for travel can be of some use in spotting him along the way.
