Since my JFK flight landed late, I left the plane and headed straight to the Qantas First lounge (located in the Tom Bradley International Terminal). I would have ordinarily walked around the terminal a bit to stretch my legs, but wanted to get in some lounge time before my next departure.

The lounge is located on the opposite side from the oneworld Business Class lounge. Go there, and then walk to the right down the long corridor. The lounge is on your left.

You’ll check in at the desks in front of you, and you’ll either need to show a First Class ticket on a departing oneworld airline, or oneworld Emerald status.

Inside, there’s a decent amount of seating with plenty of areas to stretch out. With only so many oneworld flights departing, and only so many eligible passengers, I can’t see this facility getting too crowded. There are several beverage stations, as well as a long bar where you can sit and order a drink. I had a glass of champagne, which was served promptly.

There’s also a made to order menu from the famed Australian chef Neil Perry, though I didn’t have anything during this visit since I wasn’t hungry. The food looked pretty good, though.

Actually, upon arriving to the lounge I headed straight to the shower facilities to freshen up. These are located at the back of the lounge, and you’ll need to speak with an attendant to find an open one, though I didn’t have a problem when I went back.

I did sit to try to check some emails at one point and found the internet to be unusually slow. I’m not sure if that’s because there were a lot of people on, or whether that’s a normal thing, but it was a bit frustrating for me nonetheless.

All in all, I was a bit rushed visiting this lounge due to my incoming flight departing late from JFK and arriving late into LAX, though I still got a few minutes to grab a drink and visit the facilities. Having visited the oneworld Business Class lounge before, this lounge is by far better, if you have the choice and can visit.

Not unless you are oneworld Emerald.
